next forum and letter from CERA

Our next forum will be with CERA CEO Roger Sutton on Thursday 3 July at 7:30pm in the Oak Room at The Atrium (Netball Centre) on Hagley Ave.

Here's the news for you we have in this update:
  • Follow-up from the March forum - from OVTRK, and CERA
  • Topic for July Forum

Follow-up from the March forum
We have recently sent a letter of thanks to the participants in our last Forum - Arihia Bennett (Te Runanga o Ngai Tahu), Lianne Dalziel (CCC), David Ayers (WDC), Malcolm Lyall (SDC) and Dame Margaret Bazely (ECAN).

As many of you know, Roger Sutton (CERA) was expected at that Forum.  Due to his absence that evening we were given the opportunity to meet with Roger and with Benesia Smith, CERA Deputy Chief Executive Strategy and Governance on 10-April.  We addressed the questions for CERA listed in the letter of thanks sent to Forum participants.

CERA's written response to the questions has now been received.

Topic for July Forum
NGOs and the rebuild- Forum 3 July, 7:30pm: This will be attended by Roger.

The topic will be to discuss how NGOs, and the communities we work with, can become meaningfully involved in the rebuild (with special reference to the central city and the residential red zone).

We have emphasised the value we place on participatory processes and the hope to leave an enduring legacy for us and our children after us.

This open Forum will take questions and comments from those who are involved with a community-initiated group/non-profit/NGO/whatever else you like to call yourselves - as described in our kaupapa.

That's all for now.  Looking forward to seeing you at the July Forum!
